What this site collects, and what it does with it.

The short version
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no trackers. The only personal information it handles is what you type into the contact form.
The contact form
When you send a message we keep your name, organisation, email address and message, plus the time it arrived and the network address it came from. We use them for one thing: to reply to you. The message is delivered by email to an OpenWatt mailbox and a copy is kept on the server that runs this site so that nothing is lost if mail is delayed.
We do not add you to a mailing list, share your details with anyone else, or use them for anything other than answering you. If you would like a message deleted, say so in a second message and we will delete both.
Server logs
Like every web server, ours records each request: the page asked for, the time, the network address it came from and the browser's description of itself. These logs exist so we can keep the site running and spot abuse. They are not used to identify individual visitors and they are not kept beyond what that needs.
Fonts
The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. When your browser fetches them, Google receives the request, including your network address, under Google's terms for that service. If you would rather that did not happen, blocking fonts.googleapis.com leaves the site fully readable in your system's fonts.
Who we are
OpenWatt makes open software for demand-side management programs. Questions about this policy go through the contact form.
